Partners in Health and Development (PHD) harnesses the skills and expertise developed over 15 years, managing DFID’s support to health improvement goals via a network of NGOs. Originally named BPHC, the change of name reflects our new corporate identity, offering our expertise to national and international partners working in health and development.

We work with public and private organisations delivering health and development services primarily within the NGO sector. Core Strengths

 

 

NGO Fund Management.
PHD is unique in the health and development sector having managed DFID’s support to a network of NGOs over the last fifteen years. PHD has systematically channelled finances from large donor organisations to small NGOs through well - established bidding, selection, contracting and evaluation processes. We use tested models to ensure high standards of fund management and quality NGO service delivery. We also provide specialist advice on appropriate funding and support mechanisms

NGO Capacity Development.
PHD has a detailed understanding of NGOs working in health and development and the challenges they face. To enable NGOs to provide high quality services to the communities that they serve, PHD ensures that NGOs have robust organisational, financial and management systems in place, complemented by well - trained staff. Our capacity development activities are tailor - made to meet the needs of our clients drawing on in - house expertise and where appropriate commissioning specialist training organisations.


Project Management.
PHD provides high quality services to a range of clients who may want to access our expertise but are not financing large - scale projects. Our consultancy services include baseline surveys, programme evaluation, piloting model interventions, developing assessment tools and preparing development studies and research.

Sector Knowledge

 

 

PHD consultants have an excellent understanding of managing NGO service delivery in Bangladesh. We draw on the cumulative experience of working in partnership with over 100 NGOs and government providers, serving over 3 million of the poorest people across 27 districts of rural Bangladesh. We understand the issues faced by NGOs and the communities they serve and apply this to all programme design and delivery.

PHD is built on the experiences of managing over 35 million dollars of funding from a range of international and national partners including DFID, CIDA, SIDA, Royal Netherlands Embassy, UNICEF, SCF and Sight Savers International. We operate within the highest standards of international fund management as determined by DFID, ensuring financial accountability for funding partners, NGOs and the communities that we serve.

Our team of experts brings a broad range of skills to ensure efficient delivery of quality services to all partners. Particular areas of in - house strength include quality of care, health economics, human resource development, financial management, capacity building, health communication, monitoring and evaluation, research and development.
